Penny, that is a wonderful article... Ted was one of my heros and inspirations... the article summed him up perfectly... it only missed one thing. His field delivery... when out for a walk with Ted, he would slide seamlessly from a bird species and its habits to willows and their hybrids...and then to tiny snails, fungi, flowering plants, bryophytes... and back to birds... just a steady outpouring of his encyclopedic knowledge. Your Dad, I would hazard, must have known him well!
