Touch & Go
So it's been a very tough day for all my family. I have been with my Father since his admission yesterday morning and had almost no sleep. My Father has continued to be poorly all day with BP remaining low. Consultants and Doctors have been giving him saline, potassium and antibiotics to try and combat his infection. From his blood results he may have had a heart attack we were told today. This afternoon his BP went higher momentarily and this made him perk up and attempted to smile, which brought me to tears! His urine output is only 200ml since yesterday – kidneys failing. Everything is against him at his grand age of 90 years old. His stubborn and determined character is fighting, but it is sadly a losing battle. He is aware I am here and looked pleased when I said I was staying with him tonight. The staff on this ward have been awesome and have done everything they can for him. An amazing Sister arranged an emergency camp bed for me tonight!!! The NHS is the best thing this country has and all its staff should be paid far more than they earn. Anyway, now going to settle in my camp bed – good night. Thank you all for your supportive messages via social media and emails.
