I have been sent the first two verses of a much longer poem by a well known and infamous local poet – most north coast birders will know who would pen such a poem! Apparently the other verses are not appropriate for publication!!!
Happy 40th Birthday Rob!
“So, The Young Mr Holmes has made FORTY ! !
Has he planned to do anything naughty:
Will he go and get sloshed,
Or, just end up well noshed –
And, then, have to do summat sporty !
He's now entered his 5th, long, decade;
Distinguished, if just slightly greyed !
His hard drive, with lots
Of his great camera shots,
Has such wonders – I hope they don’t fade !”
