Snow Update!

Saturday 3rd March
Sadly I didn't see any exciting birds on my walk home from work yesterday. This morning, I woke up to a new winter wonderland – it had snowed last night! The good news is that the temperatures have risen and the thaw has begun this afternoon.

I received a phone call from a friend this afternoon about a very sad and unnecessary incident, which I am extremely angry about and will be posting about tomorrow after I finish work. Anyway, I managed to get out of my estate this afternoon and went food shopping to Sainsburys for my mother and for me. There was only one single loaf of bread left in the supermarket!

Drove to Holme to deliver mother's shopping. The A149 was virtually clear, but there was a lot of snow still around. The worst drifts I saw were at Heacham, where it had obviously blown straight across the fields and onto the main road and with no hedges for protection, nothing was going to stop it! Spent the evening with mother and then returned home and fell asleep! Work tomorrow.

Above is a screenshot of a friend's photos (don't think she will mind!) of a village in Norfolk which has been completely been cut off until today! So many people think the roads are clear, but the councils only grit the major routes and main roads. If you live in a rural area, you have to wait until the council start to clear the minor roads or it thaws!
