UK weather: Hottest August Day For 17 Years As Temperatures Top 36C!

It was dripping hot at work today. To protect our patients and ourselves, we had to close all the windows and blinds to keep the boiling sun out and lights were turned off where they could be. Wearing plastic aprons, gloves and masks on top of a thick uniform was huge fun – not! Completely and utterly drained. Our Team Lead very kindly bought us some ice lollies to refresh us at lunchtime.

The best thing about today was my cool shower, when I returned home from work. The temperature right now at 10.25pm is still insanely hot. I don't think many people will get much sleep tonight!

I predict that the Northern Isles will be the new Burnham Market in the not too distant future. Considerably cooler up north! Who wants to fry here? We will be literally be cooking as climate change and temperatures worsen each year!

Some big news to reveal within the next couple of weeks!
