DIY day, painting skirting boards etc and gardening. Tomato plants coming along nicely in my shed. Had to move one of my new shrubs, as I realised it was too close to the invasive rhubarb plant. Only having one border, which is dominated by two trees and rhubarb is not enough for me – I can see the lawn becoming replaced by plants! New RSPB feeding poles are taking forever to arrive. Another glorious day here with total blue skies and sunshine, but a quiet day on the birding front.
Penny, you can lift the rhubarb this autumn/winter and move it to a more suitable location... and don't worry about little bits of root being left, they don't have enough power to reach the surface... and, having moved the main plant, any bits left that do manage to reach the surface can be dug out, thrown away or potted on and given to other people.... do it late summer to ensure that any rootlets left are not fed.
