A very busy time, especially over the last couple of days. Yesterday involved major sorting out in the back garden (jungle) with huge help from a good friend – today my hands look like they have been dragged through brambles! Today involved meeting up with Belinda Sanderson at Itteringham (picture conservator) to collect my watercolour painting of Holme reserves, which she has been working on since November. Then spent a few hours at Keys Auctioneers, getting stuff valued and putting into the weekly antiques sale. Then went to Picturecraft in Holt to leave my restored painting with them for framing at a later date. Spent my NHS long-term service award voucher in Byfords on several jars of homemade marmelade and jams!
Had a very late lunch at the excellent Kelling Tea Rooms – jacket potato with cheese & coleslaw and a pot of tea. Just as I was leaving, a gentleman sitting with (presumably) his good lady wife asked "are you Penny from Holme?" a lovely conversation then ensued, about all and sundry – lovely to meet you both. Twitched the Long-eared Owl at CleySpy – I must be the last person to see this, but it waited for me! Fabulous to watch this stunning owl, preening and enjoying the afternoon sun in the hedgerow. Quick stop at Glandford Ford for a coffee and mini walk. Then stopped off at a fellow photographer's house to drop in my sold Canon lens for a friend of theirs! Plus had a fab time looking at all their excellent photos on an iMac! Drove home, cream-crackered, back to work in the morning!
Sounds like you had an interesting, busy but exciting day
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the owl yet. Hope it stays or come back next week. You must have felt shattered by the end of the day. X
