 HOT WEATHER ESSENTIALS!

After doing lots of research I have discovered the one of the best and quietest fans out there is either the
larger MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator + FREE Storage Bag or the smaller MeacoFan 360 Personal Air Circulator + FREE Storage Bag – both have these have won the "Quiet Mark" award, which means both are good for your bedrooms. Here is the link to the homepage of Meaco: https://www.meaco.com/ You can buy these on Amazon, Argos and other places, but only the company itself provides a "free" storage bag for when you put the fan away in the colder weather. Here is the link to the bag itself.

If its still too hot to sleep upstairs, buy a camp bed or similar to sleep downstairs (if you haven't got a three seater sofa). If you want the best, purchase the Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D Large or the slightly larger version Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D XXL from Outdoor Gear. These camp mats are self-inflating, and breathable and the Therm-a-Rest company have been going for years. Excellent products. These can be used for guests, camping etc!
  • During day, keep all windows closed and blinds/curtains closed.
  • Turn all lights off when/where possible.
  • Only open windows late evening/middle of night, if air is cooler than in room and close again before sunrise to keep all rooms in day as cool as possible – closing them later in morning is too late, as the boiling sun will have been pounding through into the room, raising the temperature to melting point!!!!!
  • Fill hot water bottles with cold water and put in freezer a couple of hours before bedtime. If you haven't got room in the freezer, simply fill the hot water bottle with cold water – this makes a huge difference!
  • Have a tepid or cold shower, just before you get into bed.
  • Keep hydrated, drink lots of water, more than you normally do.
  • Purchase a Cobber Neck Wrap, which I purchased from Amazon years ago – but they don't sell that brand now. But, you can find them on Ebay here and far cheaper than what I paid. I have one, its awesome! You soak the wrap in cold water for 30 minutes and then for added coolness, place in freezer for a short while. You can then wear round your neck, head, wrist etc and it stays cold for ages! The actual company gives you lots of information here and you can buy from them directly.
