Mother's Day was a beautiful day, with glorious sunshine and blue skies. Today was spent with Lucy, Vivien and Ray on their narrowboat in Ely. We had a scrumptious lunch of starters, home-made soup and bread and the best scones ever! Ray is an excellent cook! We met up for several reasons, the main one being the fact that Ray is retiring on 31st March from his job with the EA. Lovely views of a Kingfisher whilst having lunch! Also Great Tit seen in the weeping willow close by, Mute Swans and the usual Muscovy Ducks around the marina.
After lunch we cruised along the river from Ely – this was so lovely and Lucy really loved this little trip along the river. Saw a Little Egret and a Great Crested Grebe at very close range, several Greylag Geese, Canada Geese, Coot, Moorhens, Heron, Mallards, Magpies, Wood Pigeons and Jackdaws. Cruised back to the marina with lovely views of Ely Cathedral. A lovely break from doing my house sorting! Thank you for a lovely lunch and afternoon cruise to "Captain & Chef Raymond" and Vivien 🤗 😘 x x x.
I think your header now ought to have "life" as LIFE!
