ANGRY 'BIRD' &Titchwell RSPB!

I didn't even get up until lunch time because of my neighbour's dog barking until 3.15am. I normally work on a Sunday, but really fed up with working six days. In some ways it's a good job I wasn't – I would not have been able to do a double shift on so little sleep. Note to self: GET ME OUT OF HERE!

I arrived at Titchwell RSPB in the middle of the afternoon. It was still gloriously sunny, but I had missed out on the best light of the day – never mind.

Birds seen: 4 Avocets, Shelducks, Golden Plover, loads of Lapwings, Redshanks, Bar-tailed Godwits, Curlew, 6 Little Grebes, 4 Marsh Harriers, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cetti's Warbler (heard), Pochard, Tufted Ducks, Goldeneye (pair), Pintail, Teal, Mallard, Grey Plover and at least 30+ Dunlin.

On the sea, several Goldeneye, Eider, Common Scoter and a beautiful sunset. The twisted boardwalk has now been removed and all the tidal rubbish has been bagged up. I'm glad they have fenced off the stripped dune area so that it can hopefully build up again over time, although I'm sure the beach dudes won't be impressed by this.

Non birders walking back along the main path, decided it was ok for their offspring to walk and run along the sea wall – I nearly said something, but decided I had not enough hassle for one weekend. They all seemed pretty well educated – pity they were not able to understand the simple sign that reads 'DO NOT CLIMB ON SEA WALL!!! Both the adults and children should have understood that or maybe they all needed to go to Specsavers or maybe they simply didn't care.

Barn Owl flying alongside my car between Thornham and Holme.

As I pulled into my road, I could see I was blocked in next to my drive (for the second time in the last couple of days) by a new neighbour's car. I did not want to get out of my car as wasn't sure who's the car was – it can take an irritating amount of time, knocking on different doors, trying to find out who the car belongs to so I can get in MY drive! So....... I pressed my corn horn, nothing, pressed again for longer and several times and still nothing. Got out of car angrily and went to the suspected door to find it was the same neighbour. What don't they get?!!! I would never park, so that someone could not get in their drive!!!

When I move, I will ensure that I never live in a street like this again. So fed-up with this and so many other things at the moment.

  1. Hi Penny , i have the same problem with my drive , i missed a hospital app because i was blocked in , phoned the police who were very good and came out and called for a tow truck only for the car driver to appear , his comment was " i didn't realize it was a drive way " , despite dropped kerb and car parked in it , drives me nuts...
