Sunny here as forecast. Went to Swinister Burn to see if I could see the recent Firecrest, no sign of it, but still had a lovely walk. A gingery brown stocky pit bull type dog jumped up from its fenced garden with a deep and massive woof on the way back to my car which really made me jump – I've not seen this here before so I don't know if its a new owner, new 'pet' or both. Personally, I didn't feel that fence was tall enough – it continued to bark and I must admit it didn't make me want to return again in a hurry.
Had a wander on Levenwick Beach, which never fails to disappoint for the views alone. On the cliffs above the beach there were two Fieldfares and several Redwings amongst a few Lapwings and Ringed Plovers and also tons of Rabbits. No birds on the beach or the sea, but a Seal popped up to greet me.
St Ninian's Beach was my viewpoint for the end of the afternoon. I decided it was too late to walk along the tombola, but enjoyed the views from the coach parking area and watched the clouds reforming in the sky as darkness fell. Returned home, lit the fire, did a few jobs and watched TV.
