Checked out the Burn of Njugalswater, SW of Bridge of Fitch before heading north, nothing found.

Ross's Goose
Scatsta – with Greylag Geese.
Taken with 100-500mm lens and 1.4 converter
FIRST FOR SHETLAND

Just to give you an idea of how far away the Ross's Goose was!
It was just under the cairn you can see on the far ridge

Drove to Scatsta to see the Ross's Goose. I did see it, but this was another dot in the distance, feeding on the grassy hills with Greylags, just south of the air strip at Scatsta. Wasted far too much time balancing the camera on the car door, trying to get a record distant shot.

Burn of Valayre

The Burn of Valayre, which is a Shetland Amenity Trust Community Woodland Project looks a good potential migrant spot. North of Brae, turn onto the B9076 towards Sullom Voe – follow this road for a few miles and the woodland and burn are on the right with a gate signposted ‘Burn of Valayre’ (just before you reach Voxter Outdoor Centre).
