MAINLAND
Red-flanked Bluetail still, Waxwings x 2 at Swining.
Barred Warbler still in garden on North Road, Lerwick.
Waxwing at Watsness, Dale of Walls.
Coues's Arctic Redpolls x 2 in crop field, Waxwing, Quail at Hillwell.
American Golden Plovers juvs. x 3 at Pool of Virkie.
Ring-necked Duck at Loch of Tingwall.
Barred Warbler, Siberian Chiffchaffs x 2 in Caravan Park at Scalloway.
ISLANDS
Little Bunting in turnip crop at Midgarth, Russian White-fronted Geese x 5, Long-eared Owls x 2 on ISLE OF BRESSAY.
Waxwings x 2 at Baltasound, UNST.
Dusky Warbler still at Skaw, ISLE OF WHALSAY.
As I drove up my road this evening after work I could see a bat flying around near the street light – they are not very common here. Parked up the car and saw it a second time briefly. I didn't see it long enough to decide what size it was or any more detail. It was particularly interesting, as a few people reported bats this evening around Shetland including one seen on Foula.
