I was at work for most of the day. Nipped over to Cley for an evening's birding. Parked up at Coastguards and walked to North Hide. Hundreds of Sand Martins gathering and whizzing back and forth over the Eye Field – loads of them sitting on the fence wires, a magical site indeed! A few Swallows were also in the mix. From North Hide as a sole observer, I saw 3 1s Little Gulls, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plovers, 3 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 Snipe, 80+ Dunlin, several Ruff, Shelducks, Black-tailed Godwits, Teal etc.
From Teal Hide I watched 5 Spoonbills fly onto Pat's Pool. The spoonbills worked their way round 'spooning' right in front of the hide, pity the light was almost non-existent as I attempted to photograph them. Barn Owl as I left.
