No birdy post from me today as devoted the day to helping my mother which involved big food shop, taking her shoe shopping, pruning stuff, helping father etc etc.
I wrote the following on Facebook yesterday:
"No megas in Norfolk. Fed-up. All this amazing birds today as a result of
Hurricane Gonzalo.... CHIMNEY SWIFT, HERMIT THRUSH on the Western
Isles, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO in Cornwall, BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO and a
GREY-CHEEKED THRUSH on Orkney and another on Barra, turning up south and north, what about
us!?
James Hanlon replied with ".........BUT Norfolk has one of the best track records on the east coast for
yanks. I think everyone available should be out looking everywhere this
weekend."
Too right, lets hope everyone available is looking everywhere this weekend, please! I will be searching hard and hope something mega turns up, none of
this sitting at home waiting for the pager to go off, we all need to get out
there!
Oh..... and Fair Isle has a Grey-cheeked Thrush now too!!!
