Local Birding!

What a dire weekend – rain, rain and more rain!

Went to Roydon Common to look for the Great Grey Shrike. I was the only fool here, not another soul in the pouring rain. Along the track just beyond the car park, several Blackbirds and a couple of Song Thrushes were feeding, along with a Robin and a Great Tit. Several Redwings were sitting around in hawthorn bushes. I walked along the main track through the heather and saw 2 Hen Harriers distantly. Apart from Jackdaws I didn't see any other birds.

Lynn Docks – lots of Herring Gulls and Black-headed Gulls, 3 Turnstones, 1 Redshank, Mallards and Teal by the Shellfish sheds.
