It's a sad reflection of how scarce Turtle Doves have become Penny if they are now appearing on RBA's Norfolk Bird News. It was always a species that I looked forward to seeing and was 'guaranteed' in the dim and distant past on trips to Norfolk! In fact in the 80s I ringed them on my ringing site of Snettisham Common!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Seumus
Very sad indeed – I remember seeing lots as a youngster in the Spring time.
DeleteEnjoy the next two days...
ReplyDeletehope the weather holds good!
Keep well,
keep taking the dried frog pills,
Tim
It is a shame that you need to monitor all your comments Penny,
ReplyDeletealthough I can understand why...
but it kills "conversation"...
my thoughts were exactly the same as Seumus when I keep seeing the Turtle Doves coming up as rare on the Norfolk Bird News...
so I would have replied to that rather than firing shots into the dark!!
Hope today went well...
as I looked at Sat24 just now, I noticed that the overnight cloud was clearing to the East with nought but "little fluffy clouds" in its wake....
hope it stays fine and doesn't get too hot.
Tim
