CORONAVIRUS LATEST: What We Should ALL Be Doing Now!

I was shocked and angry with people interviewed on TV last night and posts on social media, stating that people were going to selfishly carry on as normal and continue going out socially to the pub etc and saying they wanted to support local businesses so they don't go under – by deliberately mixing with others, you are spreading the virus to someone else. Some people are carriers and have no symptoms – so imagine you are that carrier, you go into a pub and have a lovely evening and sod everyone else – you pass on the virus to someone else, who then passes it onto their elderly mother or father and dies. You may pass it on to another person who also will carry the virus with no symptoms themselves and they in turn pass it onto to someone else, who will show symptoms and either become ill, seriously ill or die. We are all in the most seriously situation we have ever been in and if we don't take action now, we will lose thousands and thousands of people in the UK alone.

So PLEASE follow the government's latest advice.

I TOTALLY agree with what David Futrelle posted on Twitter last night:

"Most people staying home aren't doing so out of fear; they're trying to avoid becoming coronavirus vectors that could sicken and kill vulnerable others. Going out to bars and restaurants isn't "brave," it's selfish, the moral equivalent of deliberately coughing in someone's face"

  1. Totally agree Penny. We were at Cley beach, self isolating (as usual, haha!) today and a birding acquaintance noticed us and made a rapid beeline towards us and wouldn't have stopped had Steve not put his hands up and told him he had Coronovirus and to keep his distance! (He hasn't at the time of writing) The person stopped in his tracks in a rather surprised manner and did keep his distance and an amazed family who were getting out of their car looked on astonished. But it just goes to show, people are just NOT taking the advice given. Needless to say, the visitor centre was heaving as usual, what IS the matter with people? I hear that they are going to close the VC and the hides now, thankfully, hopefully we can walk around the reserve in peace now! Keep safe Penny.
