When I heard about Annemarie
Plas, who was behind "Clap For Our Carers" in Italy, I never, never
expected this to take off in the UK, and for anyone to actually do it! I
also didn't expected anyone in my little estate to bother either.
How wrong was I! I was talking and having a catch up with Vivien on the
phone, when I said to her 'its 8pm, I'm just going to look outside to
see if anyone is actually clapping' and to my astonishment, they were,
lots of them, cheering, whistling and thanking us NHS workers and also
heard two people thanking me and asking me if I was ok! Four doors down from me is another NHS
worker. I was extremely emotional and had a few tears. I had not
expected this at all. Thank you to all and every one of you, it is much
appreciated, in what is a VERY difficult time, that is only just kicking
off and is going to get so much worse over the next few days and weeks. Our lives at QEH are changing daily.
