BIRD OF THE DAY: MARMORA'S WARBLER ON FAIR ISLE!
1st for Fair Isle and 8th for Britain following one on Unst, 14th May 2018.

After work I went birding at Easter and Wester Quarff. Nothing of note at Wester Quarff, but at Easter Quarff I potentially had something very exciting. In the hedge of the last house on the right hand side, I heard a strange 'tick' 'tick' and then a like a low level sub song type tune, very difficult to describe, but not something I can ever recall hearing before. I stood there and waited for AGES! It didn't call again at all. This property has a large garden, so whatever it was, could have simply been feeding the otherside of the hedge! Insanely frustrating. Then as I meandered back to my car, one of two collie dogs came rushing out towards me in an aggressive manner, I quickly retreated back behind the hedge. I think the owner called it back, as I then nervously walked past again and I couldn't see it, phew!
