No wind damage from last night, but my very heavy iron front gate had blown open, the metal lid removed from the fat ball feeder and a large potted plant blew over.
Today was beautiful and sunny with bright blue skies. Went to a craft fair and cream tea at Scalloway Public Hall this afternoon – it was beautifully decorated with lots of sparkly lights strewn across the rafters and much larger inside than I imagined. Seemed quite a good turn out and as always, the home bakes were all divine – but my favourite, were some buttered sweet oatcakes, which tasted identical to Margaret Henry's oat cakes, they just had to be hers! It was nice to chat with a lady who worked at the hospital (now left) and I purchased a Teacake from her. All the proceeds were for Ability Shetland.
Managed to get a brisk walk in before sunset at Meal Beach. There were a couple of people swimming! Crazy! Then drove to Papil Loch were there were 5 Whooper Swans, Wigeon and 2 Lapwings.
