See post yesterday – I phoned Wayfair when I returned home from work to find out that they have started to charge for all deliveries to Shetland around a month ago! If only I had known this beforehand. There is no way I will be paying £179.99 delivery charge, so don't know what I'm going to do now. Its extremely hard to find bookcases that need to be 220cm high. They told me that £179.99 is the maximum charge, but when I let other folk in Shetland know about this on one of the Facebook pages, one lady had been charged £300 for a large piece of furniture to be delivered! So, either she has been incorrectly charged or they have informed me incorrectly! Alot of people buy from Wayfair here, because of the free delivery over £40 – they will lose alot of sales, but I don't expect they will care too much.

Sad that.... are there any local carpenters.... ask around... they may jump at the chance to do you a bespoke bookcase/room divider and, yes, it may cost a bit more but your money will be staying on the island!!

Tall bookcase, isn't there a local carpenter who could knock one up for you? Or even some sort of handyman, can't be that hard to do, you could buy the timber and do it yourself!
