Great White Egret at Pentney Gravel Pits...
ReplyDeletethat's nice and convenient for you...
except it would be difficult to spot in the snow! ;-)
We've had one here today...
presenting itself in horribly non-photogenic positions...
got yet more photos...
of it going away!!
Just for once, it wasn't being chased by the herons...
perhaps they are getting used to their white relative!
Just been to set the camera trap down by the "oil derrick"...
actually an owl box on a 4.5 metre high stand which I have put amongst the ash trees by the river.
Pauline and I heard strange wheezing calls from down there, last night...
each one answered by a male Tawny...
we are...
[a] wondering whether the Tawnys have found and adopted the box...
[b] wondering if the wheezy call was the female attempting to beg like a chick??
And I am not going to do an Eric Hosking and take a look... I value my eyesight!!
