Penny, these articles are all heart breaking.ReplyDelete
What is wrong with humans?
Closer to home, I was watching some (58)Sandwich Terns today on Kinshaldy beach in Fife, and I was thinking that was a 'good count'.
As a matter of interest I looked up my old notes, and in the same week in 1980 I had c1500 Sandwich Terns in the same area.
They don't breed up here any more in Fife, and other Terns are hanging on.
All this since a nice 'Coastal Path' was built.
Great for walkers, not so good for breeding shorebirds.
Sorry to depress you, but things are going down fast on this island too!!
Keep the messages coming.
Penny you really are a STAR!!
That's a massive drop in Sandwich Tern numbers!!!ReplyDelete
Thanks for your supportive comment Malc!
