Vivien and I met up in Ely on Thursday afternoon and had lunch at a wonderful vegan cafe. The food was excellent and the setting was tranquil. No screaming children, no music, just peaceful!

Lucy played in her first concert of the season with the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra today. I'm so proud of her, I really don't know how she has managed to do all her rehearsals since our mother died. She is stronger than I thought. Lucy regularly rang our mother to talk about music and finds it so difficult now she's not here – Vivien and I don't quite have the same knowledge of classical music as our mother did!
