Sandringham This Evening

Norwich Gates at the Sandringham Estate

Thinking it would be a little quieter this evening, I picked up my friend Hilary (who I work with) and we popped over to Sandringham to pay our respects to the Queen – it was 7.30pm. The police have closed off certain roads to assist the smooth flow of traffic. We had to drive to Dersingham roundabout and return the same way we had come, to turn off to Sandringham. Parking was free and staff directed you to the correct car park. It was quite a long walk from here, but there were buggy rides for elderly or people struggling to walk. We were shocked at how many people were not only still here, but were still arriving with bouquets of flowers and messages as we left in the dark!!! It was quite surreal to see this huge sea of flowers and messages. There were a few Paddington Bears hidden amongst the bouquets too! These pictures were taken at around 7.50pm.

Something very odd happened in the car park, as I got out of the car when we arrived, something fell out of the car onto the ground. I picked it up and it took me a little while to work that it was the interior door handle!!! I have never had this happen to a car before ever! The handle is broken, so not a case of just popping it back in place. So, now (until Monday at least) I have to wind the window down to open the door from the outside and then climb through the front passenger side to wind up the window, before I lock the car! This will be huge fun until I get it fixed!
