No Siskins today at all for the first time in ages. Very busy day with electricians here – new Rointe Elba Oval Electric Towel Rail and an extractor fan installed above the shower, which proved difficult to do and two holes had to be cut into the ceiling to link up with a wire to get this installed. Ceiling now patched up and will be finished and smoothed over next time David has a gap in his busy schedule. They also put in a new cable in the office and conversed with my builder Alex (who kindly popped round to chat with them) about cables etc in preparation of putting two new double sockets in and the new radiator. Will now have to wait until Alex can come out to insulate the two outside walls and put new skirting in etc. Then electricians can return and then I can book the carpet shop to fit my carpet that I have aleady paid for. A long process for one room!

No amazing show of Northern Lights showing here, due to cloud cover!!! Meanwhile, the rest of the UK seems to be having a dazzling show of colours, even in Norfolk! Eddie told me he was watching the lights from the East Bank at Cley and he couldn't believe what he was seeing – he said it was the best he had ever seen, with lots of swathes of colours visible to the naked eye!

  1. "A long process for one room!" Perhaps, but you aren't leaving soon and it will be the hub of non-food/sleep activities!!
    Wow about the Northern lights!!

  2. Always been amazed at the mirrie dancers in photos and stories from my nan, a Shetland native. Caught a glimpse of the aurora Australis tonight thinking this is a little taste of the mirrie dancers. Australia never gets these night light shows. Shame you missed it due to cloud and here’s hoping for clear night in Shetland for you tonight so you can see something spectacular like the UK did. The pics from around the world are absolutely stunning!
