"The earthstar at Cockley Cley that differed slightly from the rare Rayed Earthstar. Experts at the time
considered that it was merely a variant but recent re-examination and DNA sequence analysis has
enabled mycologists in Spain to describe it as a hitherto unknown species. It has been given the
name Geastrum britannicum, recognising, so far, that it has only been found in Britain."
