ISLANDS
No news.
Hawfinch still in the garden along with 5 Siskins and later on there were 6 Goldfinches in the garden this afternoon! Cold here today and fairly dull and rain on and off. Less common migrants seen today. Went out for a drive locally later on in the rain, but didn't find anything of particular note.
I've come to the conclusion that I need a bird photography hide for my garden, otherwise I'm never going to be able to photograph any birds in the front garden. If I stand at the furthest end away from the bird feeders I'm still too close, as the birds will not fly in with me that short distance away. Better still what I actual need is a permanent mini bird hide and I know exactly where it needs to go – to the side of my house where there is an old container type box, which is in a poor state and is going to the dump soon anyway.
