April showers here with more rain than sun. I didn't see the Hawfinch until much later today – seen twice, once feeding on the ground and the second time it landed on my front gate pillar whilst I was chatting to Vivien on the phone, but I didn't see the second bird today. The new bird feeders have proved very popular and have been emptied already! I made the mistake of including mealworms with the bird seed and the sunflower hearts, which resulted in the Starlings hauling all the seed out just to gobble every single mealworm – this meant that at least half the seed that was in the 'house' feeder is on the ground – lesson learnt! Also saw 9 Siskins on the feeders today, 2 Goldfinches, Robin, male and female Blackbird, Starlings, House Sparrows, Collared Doves and Rock Doves.
No more Shetland cakes for me or anything else that I love as have started SW again when I returned from Norfolk. Lost 9.5lbs so far, a long way to go yet though. Made some lentil soup this afternoon – you can't beat making your own soup, this receipe is from a very old Carol Vorderman 28 Day Detox for Life Book and is 'free' on the SW diet, all good! I started this diet a year or two ago and then gave up as was going through a rough patch as they say, I'm in a much better place now and completely focused. 😊
I just want to let you all know that a while ago, I had to change the settings for "comments" to my blog. I got very fed up with "Anonymous" posters sending me nasty/sarcastic/uncalled for comments, so with the way it is set up now, only members of the blog can comment and being a member of the blog means your name is also published, probably why I have not had any nasty or sarcastic comments coming to my email account! 😀 Can't be doing with keyboard warriors, life is far too short! Any comment that is submitted arrives in my email inbox and I can choose to publish or delete it, but I decided I simply didn't want to see those types of comments anymore, I should have done this ages ago!
