Can't keep up with my bird feeders at the moment, the House Sparrows and Starlings are stripping everything daily. The leucistic House Sparrow is still around with an ever increasing number of approximately 100+ House Sparrows at my feeders. I had a very unusual sighting this evening – as I pulled up in my drive I could see a very tall bird at the top of Gallow Hill that looked like a heron, I rushed to get the bins out of the car and discovered it was a Grey Heron and then a second one around 20 yards away along with the usual Hooded Crows close by them! Never seen them on the hill, how strange, they looked completely out of context up there!
Today was much calmer and sunny, so more birds were seen and found by local and the many visiting birders here. I'm at work this week and the light is almost gone by the time I finish work. The good news is I have two weeks off from this Friday!!! 🎉
