No news.
The main reason for so little bird news today is quite simply because the weather was rubbish with gale force winds and gusts of 70mph. 78mph was recorded in Whalsay today. Tesco had almost no fruit or vegetables at all last night due to no deliveries and the same again today, but a delivery is arriving tomorrow so "Shetland News" reported. Not much of a issue for me as a single person, but must be stressful for some families. I went for my usual weekly shop yesterday, but managed to get most things, the Co op had a few bags of potatoes left which I was surprised by and pleased about as I had none left at all. There are plenty of local shops to buy from which I do use anyway for some things, such as eggs from Bressay, I never get them from Tesco.
It was very difficult to get in my car after work this evening, difficult to hold the door open enough to get in and when I did, which I had to do very quickly before the door slammed on me! The car was rocking a bit on the way home! Checked all round my house with a torch when I got home, nothing amiss that I could see. As local folk would say it was an evening "afore da fire" and that's exactly what I did, lovely! Phoned Lucy and Vivien for a catch up.
