I arrived early morning at Bridge of Fitch. I was the only birder there. No sign of what could have been my first Black-faced Bunting. Went to Burn of Njugalswater and found Redwings, one fem. Blackcap and a Goldcrest. Returned to Bridge of Fitch, still no sign of the Black-faced Bunting. Went to work. News of a Kingfisher at Loch of Clickimin. Torture knowing this was 2 minutes away. Went straight to look for the Kingfisher after work. Saw the Taiga Bean Goose. Andy Johnson who found the Kingfisher, kindly returned to show me where it has been perched up. I spent every second up until dark trying to find that Kingfisher. Relocated and walked to the Fort with scope and tripod (on the recommendation from another birder). Walked back to my car in the dark feeling very sad and very fed-up. I'm not having much luck with birds right now. To be honest I would rather have seen the Kingfisher than a Black-faced Bunting. I don't care what turns up tomorrow whilst I'm at work as have to post my sister's birthday card and parcel after work, which I should have done tonight.
