The Weekend!

Thank goodness its Friday! Easterlies winds forecast from 9am tomorrow, throughout the weekend and all of next week!!! Should produce some rare birds for us all to enjoy, hopefully anyway. Extremely tired, won't be able to get up early tomorrow, but will be out early on Sunday. I'm glad the 'Flycatcher left Dungeness, saved me a trip and fuel!!!

  1. Hi Penny, I wish the Flycatcher would have stayed another day, there was a lot of glum birders about the next day. The garden here at Southview has been amazing, we had Short Toed Treecreeper!! the week before. Over the years had Dark Eyed Junco in 2008, Crested Lark just outside the garden and 20 species of Warbler now, including Raddes, Dusky, Pallas's ETC, also RB Flycatcher and all the common migrants too. The garden was originally a Wildlife garden but acted as a magnet for migrant birds and soon started attracting them, never thought a first for Britain would be on my window ledge though!!, the twitch went well and very well behaved, lets hope we can do it again, watch this space. Thanks go to Owen Leyshon, the Romney Marsh warden for keeping everyone in check. Often follow your blog, keep it up.
